Personal injury questions, answered
Straight answers to the questions injured people in Los Angeles actually ask — from an attorney, not a marketing department. For questions about a specific case type, see the practice area pages, or ask us directly in a free consultation.
How much does it cost to hire Zega Law Group?
Nothing up front. We handle injury cases on a contingency fee: the consultation is free, and you pay no attorney fee unless we recover money for you. Fee terms are agreed in writing before we begin.
How long do I have to file a personal injury claim in California?
In most California personal injury and wrongful death cases, the statute of limitations is two years from the date of injury or death. Claims against government entities generally require a claim within six months. Deadlines can be much shorter than people expect — contact an attorney as soon as possible.
What is my injury case worth?
It depends on the severity of your injuries, medical expenses, future care needs, lost income and earning capacity, pain and suffering, and the available insurance coverage. No honest attorney can quote a number before reviewing the facts.
Should I talk to the insurance company after an accident?
Be careful. The other side's adjuster works to minimize what the insurer pays, and recorded statements are often used against injured people later. Report the accident to your own insurer, but speak with an attorney before giving any statement to the other side.
What are the signs of a traumatic brain injury after an accident?
Headaches, dizziness, memory problems, confusion, sensitivity to light or noise, mood changes, and sleep disturbance. Symptoms can surface days after a crash, and a TBI can exist even when initial scans look normal. Get evaluated promptly and document every symptom.
Does Zega Law Group serve Armenian-speaking clients?
Yes — Այո։ We serve clients in English and Armenian, including the Glendale, Burbank, and North Hollywood communities.
Will my case go to trial?
Most cases settle — but they settle for full value only when the insurer believes the firm will try the case. We prepare every file to trial standard from day one, and we file when the offer doesn't match the case.
What should I bring to a free consultation?
Whatever you have: photos, the police report or report number, insurance information, medical records or provider names, and any communication from insurers. Don't wait to gather everything — the consultation itself will identify what matters.
